Providing eyecare to people in need

Poor access to vision care is a widespread problem with serious impacts on individuals, families, and communities.
  • 16 million people in the U.S. have undiagnosed or uncorrected vision problems that could be fixed with eye glasses, contacts, or surgery. 1
  • Kids who suffer untreated vision problems are more likely to struggle with academic performance, social development and self-confidence. 2
  • Adults with vision impairments experience limited job opportunities, reduced mobility, social isolation, and a higher risk of chronic health conditions. 3
  • In 2018, an estimated one third of students in Omaha Public Schools had an undiagnosed vision problem. 4
Here’s the good news: Most vision impairments can be treated and corrected with cost effective services such as eyeglasses and minor surgeries. At Give Sight Local, we are committed to bringing vision care to underserved communities in the Omaha area.
